Why these are written differently

National roofing advice does not survive contact with Los Angeles.

Most roofing content online is written for a national average: a climate with four seasons, one building department, and no Santa Ana wind events. None of that describes this city. A roof in the San Gabriel Valley ages differently from one in Santa Monica. A permit pulled through LADBS has no standing in Burbank.

So these guides are specific. Where a number would date quickly, we say so. Where the answer depends on which side of a city boundary your parcel sits, we say that too. And where a job is genuinely something you can handle yourself, we tell you rather than pretending otherwise.
